We created it to be different than other pro education workshops where you go, fill a notebook full of ideas and inspiration, and then take it home where it sits in a drawer never to be pulled out again. Life ends up going back to the way it was before, especially for vendors who have been through a season (or 20) of weddings, and who are used to being reactive in a way that is comfortable but not necessarily helpful in getting them closer to the goals they have. This event is meant to educate and inspire but also provide a platform for pros to try out new techniques and tidbits they learned Day 1 during the time they meet couples in person. Doing is a million times better than just listening when it comes to learning so we wanted this to be an opportunity for wedding pros to really cement their new ideas and techniques they learned – and potentially get a client out of it as well!
Let’s be clear: for the styled shoots – does anyone NOT want more content for their social media, website and other promo materials? But who wants to do the extra work (and $$$) to produce a styled shoot? How many of you have done styled shoots and found it a waste of time and/or money because it wasn’t published, didn’t produce the photos you needed or wanted and wasn’t well organized? You don’t know what you don’t know and we want to help you know more about styled shoots by being a part of the ones we are producing. Nothing is better than a hands-on workshop where you get great hands-on experience plus amazing content all from the same experience.
The styled shoots will be coordinated by hands-on category-specific superstars who not only know the ins and outs of styled shoots but are treasure troves of knowledge. Many have other workshops, online courses, 1:1 mentoring and some are even hiring so it is a great organic way to test out whether you want to invest in other business and technical boosting opportunities they offer.
For styled shoots, usually the goal is publication but sometimes that can be elusive as to what, when and why certain submissions are chosen over others. This is exactly why one of our panels is about all the things that publications look for, how they make their choices, why their publication of your work may be many months afterwards, and what is most important when it comes to getting published. Are you ready for the cheat sheet to getting published?
Another panel we will be having in NYC (other locations for this panel will be confirmed soon) is our Industry Innovators panel with Jackie Courtney of Nearly Newlywed and Rachel Jo Silver of Love Stories TV. Learn what they saw as a need in the wedding industry and how they decided to provide a solution, and listen to how they overcome obstacles and stay nimble in this ever-changing world. The (wedding) world is changing and to stay in the game, you need to know how the players and the game have and continue to change.
We are all about helping you change the trajectory of your business. We understand that while ideas and techniques can make sense in your head, implementation can be confusing and the learning curve can be steep. We want to help you get beyond motivation and to actualization.
But for this to happen, you need to be ready to be uncomfortable. Remember: When you do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve gotten before.
Are you ready for change?
